Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This notice explains how information is used when you browse or use Aruba Directory at arubadirectory.com, a division of ArubaWebServices.com. For questions or requests about your information, email info@arubadirectory.com.

Information you provide

When you create or use an account, the website stores account information such as your username, email address, password credentials and the profile information you provide. Passwords are stored using WordPress’s password-hashing mechanisms. If you contact the directory, your message and contact details are available to the people handling your enquiry.

When you submit a business profile or an ownership claim, we receive the details and supporting information you provide. Business names, descriptions, addresses, contact details, websites and photos submitted for a public listing can be displayed on the website and discovered through search engines. Only provide information that you are authorised to publish.

Information collected when you visit

The website and hosting systems process technical information needed to serve pages and maintain security, such as network addresses, browser information, requested pages and request times. The site also uses WP Statistics to understand website visits. Its current configuration has IP anonymisation and IP hashing enabled. This does not mean that all hosting or security logs are anonymous.

Cookies and browser storage

WordPress uses cookies for functions such as signing in and maintaining a session. Other directory tools can store preferences or saved choices. The homepage’s browser-only shortlist uses local storage on the device and browser where it is saved; it is separate from account favourites. Clearing browser storage can remove that shortlist.

You can manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking or removing them can affect sign-in, preferences and other website features.

Maps, spam protection and external services

The directory uses third-party services including Google Maps and Google reCAPTCHA. Loading or using those features can send technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, to the relevant provider. Google explains its own processing in its Privacy Policy.

Business websites, social links, advertisements and any embedded content can lead to services operated by others. Those services have their own privacy practices. Providers may process information outside Aruba.

How information is used

  • To provide browsing, account, saved-listing and listing-management functions.
  • To publish business information and review listing or ownership requests.
  • To respond to enquiries and correction requests.
  • To understand use of the website and measure advertising activity.
  • To maintain security, troubleshoot problems and prevent misuse.

Access and sharing

Authorised website administrators and service providers supporting hosting, email, security and website features may process information needed for those services. Information submitted for public business profiles is available to website visitors. We may also need to disclose information in response to a valid legal requirement or to investigate misuse of the service.

Keeping information

Account, listing, enquiry and technical records are retained as needed to operate the relevant service, handle requests and meet applicable administrative, security or legal requirements. Retention differs by record type. Backups can retain older copies for a period after live information changes.

Your choices and requests

Use your account tools to review the information and settings available to you. To request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information held by the directory, email us with enough information to identify the relevant account or record. We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting. Some information may need to be retained for applicable legal, administrative or security reasons.

For information on an independent business’s own use of your details, contact that business directly. For a correction to a public directory listing, include its URL and the information that needs changing.

Updates and contact

We may update this notice as the website or its practices change. The date above identifies the latest published version. Contact info@arubadirectory.com with a privacy enquiry, or visit our Contact page.
