Leerorkest Aruba (Learning Orchestra Aruba)

Leerorkest Aruba is a transformative musical and social initiative with a powerful mission: “Music is for everyone.” Modeled after the successful program in Amsterdam but adapted with a distinct Caribbean flair, this non-profit organization brings music education directly into Aruban primary schools. Its goal is to provide every child—regardless of their financial background—the opportunity to learn an instrument and play in an orchestra. By removing barriers such as cost and transportation (instruments are provided in the classroom), the Leerorkest uses music as a tool for social development, teaching children collaboration, discipline, and self-confidence while they master the violin, cello, trumpet, or flute.
