Profile
Located in the Renaissance Marketplace in downtown Oranjestad, The Dutch Pancake House has been a staple of Aruba’s culinary scene since 2003. Consistently voted “Best Breakfast in Aruba,” this lively, open-air eatery serves authentic Dutch-style pancakes—which are larger and thinner than American pancakes, similar to crêpes—and is a favorite stop for both cruise ship passengers and locals.
The menu is massive, featuring over 75 varieties of pancakes ranging from savory (salami, cheese, bacon) to sweet (strawberries, Nutella, Dutch apple). Another crowd favorite is the Poffertjes—mini, fluffy silver-dollar pancakes served by the dozen with a generous dusting of powdered sugar and butter. While famous for breakfast, they serve their full pancake menu all day and switch to offering hearty Schnitzels in the evening. With its casual vibe, live entertainment from the nearby market square, and consistently delicious food, it is a must-visit for a true taste of the Netherlands in the Caribbean.
