Profile
Located in the heart of “Sunrise City” (San Nicolas), O’Niel Caribbean Kitchen is a culinary landmark that has helped revitalize the southern end of the island. The restaurant is housed in the historic “Nicolas Store” building, a beautifully restored monument from 1940 that was once the community’s general store. Today, it serves as the stage for Chef O’Niel Williams, a Jamaican-born culinary talent who transitioned from high-end resort dining to creating his own authentic Caribbean soul food haven.
The menu is a heartfelt tribute to Caribbean flavors, blending Chef O’Niel’s Jamaican roots with Aruban favorites. It is widely considered the best place on the island to find genuine comfort food like tender Oxtail Stew, Curry Goat, and Jerk Chicken, all served with rich rice and peas and sweet plantains. Far removed from the tourist crowds of Palm Beach, O’Niel’s offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere where locals and adventurous visitors mingle to enjoy generous portions of high-quality food in a setting rich with history.
