Known as the “Pilgrims’ Church,” the Kapel di Alto Vista is one of Aruba’s most cherished and historic landmarks. This small, bright yellow Catholic chapel sits on a hill overlooking the rugged north coast of the island. Originally built in 1750 by Spanish missionaries and later reconstructed in 1952, it is widely considered the birthplace of Christianity in Aruba. The chapel is a place of peace and reflection, surrounded by a desert landscape of cacti and the winding “Road to Victory,” which is lined with the Stations of the Cross.
